Vigil - Stay Awake ("Vigil") is a macOS menu bar utility developed by Serhii Vasylenko. Your privacy is straightforward because Vigil does not interact with the internet in any way.

Data Collection

Vigil does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:

No analytics or telemetry
No crash reporting
No network requests of any kind
No user accounts or authentication
No third-party SDKs or frameworks

Local Storage

Vigil stores your preferences (sleep mode, launch-at-login setting, and last active state) locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.

System Permissions

Vigil uses macOS power assertions (IOPMAssertion) to prevent idle sleep. This is the same API used by macOS itself and does not require any special permissions or access to personal data.
