Verify it's working

Open Terminal and run pmset -g assertions | grep Vigil to confirm the sleep assertion is active.

Menu bar only

Vigil lives in the menu bar and won't appear in the Dock or Cmd+Tab switcher. Look for the icon in the top-right area of your screen.
